National Lampoon's 'Christmas Vacation' is a holiday classic, but filming the 1989 comedy wasn't always smooth, especially during one of its most chaotic scenes involving a squirrel. The cast recently came together at Fan Expo Chicago, where they delighted fans with insider tales from the set, including the challenges they faced while filming a particularly tricky sequence.

The Squirrel Problem on 'Christmas Vacation' Set

Juliette Lewis, who played Audrey Griswold, explained that the family-tree squirrel gag took three days to film. Beverly D'Angelo revealed that the original trained squirrel had died of a heart attack, which Lewis hadn't known at the time. Consequently, the filmmakers relied on an untrained squirrel for the scene, which meant Chevy Chase spent almost every take with a stuffed squirrel perched on his shoulder—only swapping it out for the brief instant when the real squirrel lunged toward the camera. D'Angelo admitted that this mishap had disrupted the magic of the scene, and Lewis agreed it was a sad turn of events.

The scene, which shows the Griswold family scrambling around the house as the squirrel jumps from the tree, remains one of the most memorable moments in the film and leads to the movie’s climactic chaos.

The ‘Hallelujah’ singer, Carrie Underwood has been oozing Christmas spirit and spirituality still! So much so the singer announced a companion album titled “My Savior” that will accompany her Christmas album “My Gift”. The former album is expected to drop on the 26^th March.

Carrie has expressed her spirituality in either explicit ways like in ‘Jesus, Take The Wheel’ or subtly like in ‘See You Again’. Speaking to a source, Underwood revealed her plans to release this “gospel” album later this year is filled with hymns that she “grew up singing in church”.

Talking about the singing, Carrie Underwood shared, despite the familiarity, it was a challenging feat to sing the hymns alone.  “One thing I noticed with making the Christmas album is; "You have been singing these songs your whole life, but have you ever sang them by yourself?". I quickly realized that this is going to be tougher than I thought.”, the singer said.

She explained, "Both of those projects were bucket list projects for me, with everything I do, I just want to be positive". And we had the Christmas album, which was so near and dear to my heart."

"Last year was a tough year for everybody, and I think just wanting to be positive in this world and sing these songs that bring me so much joy, hopefully, others can be like that as well and these songs can bring others joy". That goes back with everything that I do ... I just want to do positive things." Underwood added.

?s=19">announcement arrived yesterday, leaving fans excited. Carey, the Queen of the Holidays, is also named as the executive producer on the project. She will be working with Ian Stewart, Raj Kapoor, and Ashley Edens. Further, Hamish Hamilton and Roman Coppola will direct the programme.

'Mariah's Magical Christmas Special' will premiere on Apple TV Plus on the 4th of December. In addition, the festivities will be in full swing as the special's arrival marks a milestone in the singer's career. This year marks the 25th anniversary of Mariah's evergreen Christmas track, 'All I Want for Christmas is You'. The beloved holiday single was released back in 1994, and, is now a symbol synonymous with the holiday season.

Carey further revealed a star-studded line up joining her on the special. Guests will include Tiffany Haddish, Billy Eichner, Snoop Dogg, Jermaine Dupri, Misty Copeland and Mykal-Michelle Harris. Further, musical guests include Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson.

In a statement accompanying the announcement, fans were informed: "[the special] will combine music, dancing, and animation driven by a universally heartwarming story that brings the world together".

In other news, Carey just scored a massive record with her new book, "The Meaning of Mariah". The autobiography landed a place as nominee amongst the Goodreads Choice Awards in the Best Memoir category. The book details her life, from childhood to superstardom and the journey in between. While Christmas Eve is still a good few weeks away, that hasn’t stopped this buzzing hit from seeing a massive surge in streaming numbers.

So far, the track has raked in a whopping 1.14 million on-demand streams in the U.S. across November 1st and 2nd. In fact, Mariah began picking up some mind-boggling streaming numbers from late October itself, before shooting to 940,000 streams on November 1st.

Now, just to fill you in on the endless success following the track, with an estimated sales of over 16 million copies, it remains the best selling Christmas single by a female artist and one of the best-selling singles of all time. In fact, just last year, in 2019, the song topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time, 25 years after its original release, thus breaking several records, including the longest trip to number one.

Staying true to global calendars, artists have already started spreading that festive cheer with a string of starry releases. Last week witnessed two buzzing tunes from the likes of Liam Payne and the Jonas Brothers. So, as this Christmas list fattens up, there's a brand new addition making quite the ripple. The young Carly Rae Jepsen just arrived with a funky new tune. 

Titled, 'It's Not Christmas Till Somebody Cries,' the tune opens with a string of pretty sleigh bells, tossed up with funky synth pop beats. Jepsen's honeyed vocals then arrive, hooking you in from the get-go. 

Interestingly, the songwriting proves to be all sorts of quirky and humorous. Jepsen details a rather sticky Christmas-Eve dinner, featuring all the familiar mood-dampeners. Here, take a look:

The past few weeks have witnessed a storm of activity in the music industry. Artists have been dropping fresh tracks left, right and centre. Just last week, Bebe Rexha and Doja Cat tied up for 'Baby, I'm Jealous'. Preceding their collaboration, Zayn, Shawn Mendes, BLACKPINK and a string of other stars all battled it out for the spotlight. And now, there's a new contender: the one, the only, Mariah Carey.

The star is gearing up to drop what fans believe is a sparkling new Christmas track. Oh but here's the kicker:the track might just feature Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson. 

It all began where storms often do, on social media. The star shared a picture of three directors chairs on set, each brandishing a set of initials: AG, MC and JH. Choosing not reveal anything else, Carey merely captioned her post with a sweet Christmas tree emoji. 

Now on one hand, the festive nature of this track isn't a surprise considering that Carey is well-known for crafting heartwarming Christmas tracks. After all, 'All I Want For Christmas is You' remains Carey's biggest international success, reaching number one in numerous countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the United States. In fact, in 2019, the song topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts for the first time, 25 years after its original release, thus breaking several records, including the longest trip to number one. It also managed to rake in an estimated sales of over 16 million copies, and remains one of the best-selling singles of all time.

Well, there's still a good few weeks till Christmas time and something tells us Mariah Carey is going to use every second to cook up the finest festive treat.

If you asked us what the best gift we've ever received was. Our answer would be plain and simple: new music. And it looks like Meghan Trainor might just be filling in for Santa Claus this year, because she's got a whole load of offerings for us.

The young star recently took to social media to reveal that she's got a festive album in the works. Titled, 'A Very Trainor Christmas', it will make its landing on October 30th, not exactly Christmastime but close enough!

"NOTHING makes me happier than the holidays w my family!" Meghan wrote alongside a 10-second clip of her announcement, "This year has been difficult to say the least, so I’m tryna bring joy the best way I know how...with a Christmas album full of originals & classics!" And so, in light of this fantastic news, we figured we'd reacquaint you with this buzzing star. She's made quite a name for herself in the pop music world and it's only right that we fill you in on every itty bitty detail on her! So, without further ado, Meghan Trainor, everyone!

Kanye West brought around that Christmas cheer with the perfect gift: a new album! Back in October, he promised to drop a new album on Christmas Eve, and it looks like he’s a man of his word.

‘Jesus Is Born’ is his latest collaboration with his Sunday Service collective. This one’s got 19 tracks, made up of all the work he’s been putting in with his choir, during the semi-regular weekend sermons he's been hosting and producing since January 2019.

Jesus Is Born is West's second gospel album, after ‘Jesus Is King’. Due to his sudden shift to gospel music, many were apprehensive about his first album. But, unsurprisingly, it still managed to claim the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts, following its debut on October 25th. This clearly proves that there’s no dearth of talent when it comes to Kanye. With 'Jesus Is King', West tied the record previously held by Eminem for the most consecutive No. 1 albums.

And yet, unlike his first album, ‘Jesus is Born’ is a more traditional approach to gospel music, while its predecessor brought in elements of hip hop and electronic music, not straying too far from the type of sound Kanye’s worked with in some of his older tracks like ‘Love Lockdown’ and ‘Heartless’. So, perhaps, now comes the true test with his second album.

But ultimately, music is music, and it’s always interesting to see artists experiment with new genres!

Every Christmas children are asked - "were you naughty or nice this year" and well, these kids have it all sorted - they were the BEST!

A group of children in the 2 minute Christmas video can be seen dancing their hearts out and celebrating Christmas in the right holiday spirit! The video was uploaded by YouTube user ‘Medivazhipadu by Toms’shows the children performing their version of the Christmas classic "Jingle Bells", in sync with a group of traditional drum players who put a Sinkari twist to the classic.

Since its upload, the video has racked up close to 250,000 views on YouTube, mesmerising viewers world over. Check it out!

You know how they talk about "serving serious looks"? Well, powerhouse vocalist and general Queen, Adele, just took that saying, made it her own and served us all with a seven course meal smacking us right in the face with her most recent Instagram post wishing fans a Merry Christmas.

The singer took to her Instagram to post a picture of herself and a friend during the holiday season. The photograph shows her all glammed up in a form-fitting satin dress, hair done up Hollywood style and a bold red lip, posing next to a well-dressed Grinch. The intent was simple - a Merry Christmas wish to all her fans and followers.

But what followed was a slew of comments about the songstresse's weight and glow up, with one fan even saying "Whew! This post divorce glow". The shock as Adele's new look continued as fans struggled to recognise her - "Who the f**k is this? Where is Adele", one user commented. People lose weight, it isn't that big a deal, can we all just calm down?

The singer has always been known for staying body positive no matter her weight, even going so far as to say "I make music for people's ears, not their eyes". We love that energy for 2020, Adele!

Either way, we just hope she's healthy and happy!
