The show, which concluded its sixth season in 2022, is set to continue with a new timeline — this time moving into the 1950s. While details are still emerging, the storyline will reportedly introduce a new generation of the Shelby family, with Cillian Murphy possibly returning as Tommy Shelby.

Knight emphasized that keeping the production in Birmingham is a major win for the region. His commitment to filming in the city mirrors the approach taken with the upcoming Peaky Blinders film, The Immortal Man, which is also being shot there.

Kate Phillips, who portrayed Linda Shelby in the original series, has confirmed she will not appear in the new film. She shared that although there were initial conversations about her involvement, the plans did not move forward.
