Originally released in Finland in late 1999, the progressive trance anthem gained international fame following its global re-release in the summer of 2000. It became a chart-topping hit in several countries, peaked at Number Three in the UK Singles Chart, and earned platinum certification in the United States for surpassing one million sales. It also holds the distinction of being the best-selling 12-inch single worldwide in the year 2000.

In Finland, Sandstorm remained on the charts for 42 weeks, cementing its place in the country’s musical legacy. Darude noted on Instagram that the track could be heard everywhere during the nationwide tribute—from malls to schools—and expressed gratitude to everyone who participated.

The celebration also coincided with the announcement of a headline show in Helsinki, scheduled for September 6, as part of Darude’s ongoing STORM25 European tour. The journals are said to begin in June 1976, shortly after Queen released the single ‘You’re My Best Friend’, and continue up to July 1991. They document his journey from his childhood in Zanzibar and school years in India to his rise to fame in the UK.

Director Dean Fleischer Camp recently addressed the character’s removal, sharing that while the team explored the possibility of including Gantu in the live-action version of ‘Lilo & Stitch’, they ultimately chose to leave him out. According to Camp, certain elements from the animated film didn’t translate as effectively to a more grounded, emotionally driven story. He emphasised that this decision allowed the filmmakers to focus more on the relationship between Lilo and her sister Nani, giving the film more emotional breathing room and depth.

Aline Brosh McKenna, producer Wendy Finerman, and original director David Frankel are all back together in the much-awaited ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’.  Streep's strong character, Miranda Priestly, will once again be the focus of the movie as she deals with the difficulties of a dying print media empire.  This time, she faces Emily Blunt, who has climbed through the ranks of a prominent advertising business, as her former assistant.

 In interviews, Blunt has alluded to her comeback while keeping her part a secret.  Fan excitement was further heightened by Stanley Tucci, who played the beloved character Nigel, playing a humorous non-answer when asked about his possible involvement.  However, Anne Hathaway's Andy Sachs remains the most mysterious. Given her pivotal part in the original film's continuing appeal, people are eager to see her return in ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’, even if her comeback has not yet been confirmed.

High fashion, witty humour, and industry turmoil will return to the big screen in ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’, which has a great date and a returning group of powerful actors. However, Marvel will not be present this time.

‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’ undoubtedly carries on the tradition of the ‘Final Destination’ franchise, which has long been recognised for its inventive and brutal death scenes.  The most recent entry remains faithful to its origins, from its tragic beginning to its remarkable cast of individuals who barely escape death.  But the most potent and memorable scene in the movie doesn't involve any gore or violence; rather, it is brought about by Tony Todd's silent, introspective portrayal of William Bludworth.

Bludworth, the only recurring character in the franchise, has always represented an enigmatic and menacing power.  Each part was given a terrifying depth by his function as a coroner with profound insights into the design of death.  His appearance, however, assumes a more sentimental and reflective tone in ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’.  A long-awaited history is revealed in the movie: Iris, a major character in the new movie, previously saved Bludworth's life during the Skyview Tower tragedy when he was a child.  This discovery reframes his relationship with death as a personal fixation fueled by a near-death experience as well as a professional proximity.

Bludworth's character gains a great deal of emotional weight from this scene.  His profound understanding of death is no longer only academic; rather, it stems from his survival and eerie awareness of his position on the death list.  His choice to become a coroner is depicted as a wish to remain near the force that almost took his life, rather than as morbid curiosity.  His dialogue from earlier movies now has a more intimate meaning, particularly when he gives cryptic warnings to people who are attempting to defy fate.

When Iris's family looks for answers and Bludworth, who is now obviously tired and depressed, talks openly about his own mortality, ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’ emotional core is revealed.  The revelation that he and Iris are both terminally ill emphasises the franchise's recurring theme: death is inevitable.  The scene gives viewers a peaceful moment of reflection that is uncommon in the series by pausing the regular mayhem to consider the inevitable conclusion of life.

 The fact that Tony Todd was fighting cancer in real life at the time the movie was being made adds even more poignancy to this scene.  His portrayal adds significant emotional depth while obfuscating the distinction between actor and character.  His conversation about approaching death is not solely Bludworth's; rather, it seems to be a farewell to him personally and a reflection of his own path.

Amidst a spectacle-driven franchise, ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’  astonishes with a true human vulnerability moment.  In addition to being a heartfelt homage to his legendary character, Todd's introspective performance takes the movie above and beyond its horror origins.  It serves as a reminder to viewers that the most terrifying reality lies not in intricate death traps but rather in the silent certainty that all people share.

‘The Elden Ring’ universe is transitioning from video games to the big screen.  With renowned filmmaker and screenwriter Alex Garland at the lead, A24 has formally announced its participation in a movie version of FromSoftware's highly regarded dark fantasy role-playing game.  Garland, who is well-known for his work on ‘Ex Machina’, ‘Civil War’, and ‘Warfare’, will write and helm what is expected to be one of A24's most ambitious and expensive projects to date.

A24 and game developer Bandai Namco Entertainment jointly made the news, signifying a significant partnership between the titans of gaming and movies.  Alongside Peter Rice and others, George R.R. Martin, who co-developed the ‘The Elden Ring’ mythology with director Hidetaka Miyazaki, will serve as producer.  DNA Films, the production company behind ‘28 Days Later’, will assist in the development of the movie.

 The story of the Tarnished, warriors exiled from grace who rise to take the power of the Elden Ring and the title of Elden Lord, is told in ‘The Elden Ring’ , which is set in the vividly imagined Lands Between.  The game's complex, lore-heavy tale poses a special challenge for the screen adaptation, but Garland is well-suited to the material because of his background writing high-stakes, cerebral stories.

‘The Elden Ring’  was a worldwide sensation when it was released in 2022, selling over 30 million copies and winning Game of the Year.  Its legendary position was further cemented by its highly regarded expansion, ‘Shadow of the Erdtree’.  There should be lots of dramatic possibilities in the game's expansive universe, which is full of ancient ruins, corrupted gods, and enigmatic mysteries.

 Hidetaka Miyazaki, president of FromSoftware, has previously stated that ‘The Elden Ring’  is open to cinematic adaptations of its work, but that doing so would need a talented collaborator to realise the concept without sacrificing its complexity.  Garland, renowned for fusing intricate storylines with eye-catching visuals, is now tasked with adapting ‘The Elden Ring’  eerie universe for new viewers.

The official creation of ‘The Elden Ring’  movie adds to the increasing number of high-profile video game adaptations.  It comes after A24 revealed plans for a ‘Death Stranding’ film, solidifying the studio's position as a major force in top-notch video game crossovers.

 On 30th May, 2025, gamers can anticipate the release of ‘Elden Ring: Nightreign’, a multiplayer spin-off that will be available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.

Miley Cyrus recently revealed that a candid conversation with Hollywood legend Harrison Ford influenced her decision to cancel plans for an intimate tour linked to her upcoming visual album, ‘Something Beautiful’.  Because of their similar industry circles and long-standing relationship through Disney, the two unexpectedly met paths at a casual moment.

 During her appearance on Apple Music 1's ‘The Zane Lowe Show’, Miley Cyrus clarified that she had shown Ford a digital concept presentation for ‘Something Beautiful’, which featured concepts for live concerts in forests, historic pyramids, and other striking natural settings.  However, Ford questioned whether it would be feasible to carry out such a bold production. Pointing out the logistical and financial difficulties, he questioned her about whether she planned to transport workers and equipment into isolated locations just to perform.

Harrison Ford’s answer gave Miley Cyrus a flash of insight.  When she saw that Ford's viewpoint made a lot of sense in terms of resources and production demands, she went back to her creative team and called off the woodland performance plan.

 Miley Cyrus now intends to present ‘Something Beautiful’ to people via a movie experience rather than a conventional tour.  She referred to the movie component as her take on touring, enabling viewers to regularly experience the performances in theatres without the emotional and physical strain of live performances.  The immersive experience created by the visual album is meant to be viewed repeatedly with the same emotional effect.

Miley Cyrus included a humorous story about her godmother, Dolly Parton, in the same interview.  Two years ago, when Parton was on vacation, Cyrus played the title song, ‘Something Beautiful.’  Parton asked Cyrus if she had any possible hits, and he replied that she did, naming a song that wasn't yet composed but was called ‘More to Lose.’

 Inspired by the talk, Miley Cyrus hurried to work with Michael Pollack, her songwriting partner.  He presented a catchy concept that he and songwriter Autumn Rowe had co-written, and they swiftly transformed the incomplete idea into a finished song.  By early January, the song was finished, and after Parton heard it, she asked for even more material, which confirmed Cyrus's belief in her developing voice.

‘Something Beautiful’, which will be released as an album and a visual experience, ushers in a new chapter in Miley Cyrus's career, one in which she is fusing creativity and reflection while also gaining insight from unlikely mentors like Dolly Parton and Harrison Ford.

Scarlett Johansson officially stepped behind the camera for the first time with her directorial debut, ‘Eleanor the Great’, which premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. Known globally for her powerhouse performances on screen, Johansson entered a new chapter in her career by taking on the role of director, marking a significant milestone in her creative journey.

The actress, who gained notoriety for her famous portrayal of Natasha Romanoff, also known as Black Widow, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is now considering a possible comeback to the studio, but this time as director.

 Scarlett Johansson stated that he would like to direct a big action movie, especially one set in the Marvel universe, in a sit-down interview with Deadline at Cannes.  In her reflections on her involvement in the production of ‘Black Widow’, she emphasised the importance of human connection and emotion in expansive narrative.  According to her, action-packed blockbusters may still have a deep plot, particularly if they incorporate themes like disappointment, family, and personal development, as she did in Eleanor the Great.

Scarlett Johansson clarified that she believes there is creative potential in striking a balance between dramatic storytelling and high-budget action, and that directing in the vast Marvel Cinematic Universe may present an intriguing challenge that she is willing to take on.

‘Eleanor the Great’ was given high marks in Cannes, including a standing ovation that lasted five minutes.  The film follows 94-year-old Eleanor Morgenstein, a clever and disobedient woman, as she deals with bereavement and the fallout from the stories we tell.  The movie, which stars June Squibb, Jessica Hecht, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, has been called a "comically poignant" story of truth, loss, and rebirth.

A few years after her widely publicised legal battle with Disney over ‘Black Widow’, Scarlett Johansson is entering an exciting new phase in her career—this time, behind the camera. She sued Disney in 2021, alleging that the company had violated her contract by releasing the movie on Disney+ and in cinemas at the same time, which had an impact on her earnings that were based on box office performance.  After the issue was eventually settled, Scarlett Johansson felt upbeat about working with Disney in the future.

According to new updates from Lionsgate officials, the much-awaited Michael Jackson biopic titled ‘Michael’, which is based on the life of music icon Michael Jackson, is unlikely to debut before the end of 2025.  Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer disclosed during the studio's fourth-quarter earnings call for fiscal 2025 that the movie's release date might be extended past the current fiscal year, which might affect the company's financial outlook for 2026 while bolstering the lineup for fiscal 2027.

 According to Feltheimer, the production team, which is headed by filmmaker Antoine Fuqua and celebrated producer Graham King, has amassed more than three and a half hours of captivating video.  Although current estimates indicate the Michael Jackson biopic may not be released in theatres until after April 2026, he stressed that a definitive release date would be revealed shortly.

Adam Fogelson, the chairman of Lionsgate's film division, also disclosed that the Michael Jackson biopic will now be released in two installments, signifying yet another shift in the studio's strategy.

The April 2025 release date of the biopic ‘Michael’ was moved to October 2025.  The most recent reports, however, indicate that the movie won't make that deadline either because reshoots are already in progress.

 Significant reshoots after legal discoveries about a 1993 settlement between Jackson and one of his accusers are said to be partially to blame for the delay.  The original script unintentionally broke that agreement, which prohibited the Chandler family from being dramatised or mentioned.  According to those with knowledge of the situation, the production crew acted right away after realising that the screenplay had been accepted before this oversight was discovered.

Insiders maintain that the Michael Jackson biopic is still on course despite a lot of conjecture.  According to a person close to the production, the biopic is not in a state of disarray and is actively proceeding with reshoots planned for March.

 Jaafar Jackson, Michael Jackson's real-life nephew, plays the main character in the Michael Jackson biopic.  Jackson's parents are portrayed by Coleman Domingo and Nia Long, Joe and Katherine, while Miles Teller portrays John Branca, the singer's longtime lawyer and executor of her estate.

 ‘Michael’, directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Graham King of Bohemian Rhapsody, has played a significant role in Lionsgate's marketing campaigns, including its 2024 CinemaCon presentation.  However, even though principal photography ended in May 2024, no new footage was displayed during this year's event.

‘Four Letters of Love’, a touching movie that examines fate, passion, and the inexplicable power of genuine connection, will star Pierce Brosnan and Helena Bonham Carter.  The film, which is based on the critically acclaimed 1997 book by Niall Williams, tells a romance story through the lives of regular people who are thrust into extraordinary situations.

 The plot of ‘Four Letters of Love’ revolves around Nicholas and Isabel, played by Fionn O'Shea and Ann Skelly, whose paths cross in ways that defy reason but seem inevitable. Polly Steele directed the film, which was shot on Ireland's stunning coastlines.  Gabriel Byrne also appears in the movie, which gives the ensemble cast even more nuance.

The emotional impact of their narrative starts with a profound epiphany for Nicholas in the just-released teaser. He feels as though everything in his life finally comes together when he meets Isabel.  The tone for a love story that defies logic and reality is established by this strong emotional attraction.

 William, portrayed by Pierce Brosnan, is a parent who decides to give up a traditional life and pursue painting after experiencing a spiritual awakening.  Byrne and Bonham Carter portray Isabel's parents, whose lives are equally turned upside down by unfathomable forces.

As Nicholas considers their relationship, he expresses his intense wish to share all of his emotions, understanding that the only one who should read what he writes is the one who counts most.

Thanks to ‘Mario Kart’, Jimmy Fallon has revealed the amusing and somewhat upsetting tale of how he unintentionally destroyed a possible date with Nicole Kidman.

When Nicole Kidman made her first appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in 2015, she left Fallon visibly stunned by revealing they had once been part of a low-key setup arranged by a mutual friend.  Kidman, who was single at the time, was willing to meet  Jimmy Fallon in the hopes that a romantic connection might develop.  Fallon, on the other hand, had misinterpreted the encounter as a business gathering to discuss a part in the 2005 movie ‘Bewitched’.

Kidman claims that the visit to  Jimmy Fallon's flat was uncomfortable right from the beginning.  He hardly spoke, put on a baseball cap, and then switched on a video game.  She determined he wasn't interested after they sat through almost 90 minutes of gaming and quiet, and she left, calling the entire situation "so embarrassing."  Fallon was noticeably surprised by the narrative and subsequently described it as one of the most embarrassing experiences of his life.  Since then, the video has received over 63 million views on YouTube.

During her ‘Tonight Show’ appearance recently, actress Isabela Merced brought the topic back into the public eye.   Jimmy Fallon described ‘The Last of Us’ as the scariest video game he has ever played throughout their conversation.  When he botched his date with Kidman, Merced couldn't help but wonder if that was the game he had been playing.   Jimmy Fallon blushed and laughed as he explained that ‘Mario Kart’ was the one who had actually ruined his date.

 As Nintendo prepares to release ‘Mario Kart World’, an open-world version of the venerable franchise, next month along with the ‘Nintendo Switch 2’, the gaming industry has taken on a new life.

Tom Cruise has made it clear that he's showing no signs of slowing down in Hollywood—and his next film is all the proof fans need.

Oscar-winning director Alejandro G. Iñárritu's daring, anarchic comedy, which stars Tom Cruise, is intended to take audiences by surprise.  The movie, titled ‘Judy’, was recently completed in London and is Cruise's first significant part after ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’.

 During his visit to the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, Iñárritu, who is known for critically praised films including ‘Birdman’ and ‘The Revenant’, gave a preview of what to expect.  He characterised the new project as a chaotic, unexpectedly emotional comedy that was brutally wild.  The filmmaker, who usually works with high drama, acknowledged that it was both exciting and scary to venture into comedy, especially with Tom Cruise.  He underlined that to push artistic boundaries and avoid repetition, every movie should be a little scary to make.

Despite Iñárritu's prior exploration of dark humour in ‘Birdman’, Judy appears to be his most humorous endeavour to date.  He described Tom Cruise dedication as a kind of creative lunacy that kept the project alive and electric throughout filming, adding that the actor brought a degree of intensity and surprising energy to the set.

 Sandra Hüller (‘Anatomy of a Fall’), Jesse Plemons, Riz Ahmed, and others are among the film's outstanding ensemble cast members.  Anticipation for the film's release is already growing, as editing is set to start right after Cannes.

After spending a significant portion of the last ten years working on popular action franchises like ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and ‘Mission: Impossible’, Tom Cruise partnership with Iñárritu is a welcome change.  It appears that the actor is embarking on a new creative era where genre experimentation will play a major role.

‘Judy’, starring Tom Cruise, one of Hollywood's biggest stars and one of its most inventive directors, is set to hit theatres in the fall of 2026 and might be one of the decade's most daring comedies.
