Pete Davidson asked Eminem to help pay respect to the show's creator, Lorne Michaels in one of his final sketches on Saturday Night Live.

Earlier this week, it was reported that a number of cast
members will be leaving the late-night sketch programme at the end of its 47th
season, which ended on 21st May.

Davidson, Kate McKinnon, Addy Bryant and Kyle Mooney are among the cast members leaving the show, each of whom said their goodbyes to Studio 8H in their own unique way at last night's season finale.

Davidson's goodbye included a segment on the 'Weekend
Update' desk with Colin Jost, which was his first appearance on the show. He
then expressed gratitude to SNL for always having his back, for allowing him to
work on himself and improve as well as never giving up on him or criticising
him even when everyone else was.

The 'Weekend Update' wasn't Davidson's only farewell: in a
Cut for Time sketch, the comedian paid tribute to his mentor and SNL founder
Lorne Michaels with a third and final Eminem parody, much to the chagrin of the
Detroit rapper.

Davidson, utilising deepfake technology, flipped Dr. Dre and Eminem's 2000 hit 'Forgot About Dre' into 'Forgot About Lorne,' paying respect to Michaels' legacy while namechecking a number of prior cast members who became household names due to Michaels.

However, Davidson's tribute is cut short when Eminem shows up to the studio and shuts it down, criticising the comedian for his Slim Shady-themed parodies during his time on Saturday Night Live. Eminem tells him to stop. Davidson responds by saying that they do this because they love him so much. It’s like a tribute.

The previous two times Davidson mocked Eminem on SNL were
when he recreated the rapper's famed 'Stan' video and before that, when he
dressed up in a Batman and Robin style costume for a parody of
'Without Me,' which also served as a sort of explanation for the recent NFTs

On 2nd April , musical guest Gunna will join host Jerrod Carmichael, and the following weekend, on 9th April , Camila Cabello will sing while Jake Gyllenhaal hosts. On 16th April, Lizzo will host and perform at the same time, doubling as the episode's host and musical guest.

Lizzo confirmed a new album was coming “very, very soon”, saying she was
headed home after the SXSW event to work on mastering the record. “It’s good. I
worked real hard on it, so it better be good,” she said.

Last month, during an interview with Variety, Lizzo called the album
“one of the most musically badass, daring and sophisticated bodies of work I’ve
done to date” and said she was “shocked” that it’s a “love album”.

Cabello, meantime, is planning an "immersive" TikTok concert
to celebrate the release of her new album "Familia."

The singer-songwriter's third album will be released on April 8, a day
before she performs on Saturday Night Live. On April 7, the concert would
feature "the first-ever live performances" of music from
"Familia."

Gunna released 'P Power,' his highly-anticipated duet with Drake, earlier this year. The Young Thug-signed rapper announced the tracklist for his third album, 'DS4Ever,' ahead of its January 7 release, which included a Drake-featured song called 'Pussy Power.'

Måneskin is all set for their debut performance on
Saturday Night Live next week as the show's next musical guest. It will be the
latest in a string of recent performances on US television shows by the Italian
band and 2021 Eurovision champions.

Next Saturday (January
22), Måneskin will perform two songs on
the long-running US comedy show. The show will be hosted by MacGruber and ‘The
Last Man On Earth’ actor Will Forte, who was once a part of the cast of

Måneskin will embark on their 2022 UK and European

XCX still managed to appear in a pre-taped sketch with host Paul Rudd and some of SNL’s regular cast members. Rudd introduced the sketch, explaining: “You know, Christmas is a time of charity and giving and that was the inspiration for this next music video, which I shot yesterday morning with Kyle Mooney, Aidy Bryant, Heidi Gardner, Keenan Thompson, Alex Moffat and what should have been tonight’s musical guest, Charli XCX.

“It’s a heartfelt Christmas song about a magical moment between a boy
and a strange man at a department store. Enjoy!”

In the sketch, Mooney plays a young boy who meets Rudd in a department store while buying some “Christmas socks” for his mum to cheer her up after their bird flew away earlier in the year. His mum, played by Bryant, appears as Mooney and Rudd have a conversation through song and shares some news about the pet – “T.J. Rocks is back and started a band.”

XCX
played the parrot T.J. Rocks and sang: “I am
T.J. Rocks, these are the Junkyard Boys and we’d like to play a song for you.”
The group then launched into a surf-rock song that went: “I
took a bus to LA and I got the Junkyard Boys / We got rich and famous but we
wanna spend Christmas with you.”

Meanwhile, XCX recently
shared the first trailer for her documentary Alone
Together. The film captured the creation of her album ‘How I’m Feeling
Now’, which was made during lockdown in 2020.

Saweetie was exuding her icy charm at Studio 8H on 20^th November, with her performance of her brand new single alongwith a medley of familiar tunes during her musical guest debut on Saturday Night Live. The episode hosted by Marvel star Simu Liu aired fresh off the release of Saweetie’s latest track 'Icy Chain.'

For her first performance, the Bay Area-raised rapper looked resplendent in a bedazzled silver dress while flanked by ballerina backup dancers for a slowed-down rendition of ‘Tap In.’ As the song’s tempo accelerated, Saweetie transitioned into the girl power anthem ‘Best Friend,’ featuring Doja Cat.

With “Best Friend,”
Saweetie became the fifth female rapper to secure three No. 1 hits on Billboard‘s
Rhythmic Airplay chart. The collab also hit No. 1 on Rap Digital Song Sales and
cracked the top 10 of Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

Later in the Simu
Liu-hosted episode of the NBC comedy series, Saweetie returned to debut her
brand new single ‘Icy Chain,’ which was released on 19th November. With a
backdrop of brightly lit oversized letters spelling out the word “Icy,” the
rapper was clad in a short white skirt while twerking alongside her fellow
dancers during the choreographed dance routine.

The new single will
appear on Saweetie’s upcoming debut album, Pretty Bitch Music. On
the red carpet of the 2021 BET Awards in June, the rapper told Billboard that
meeting Cher made her realize she needed to push back the album release and get
back in the studio.

“This album needs to
have feelings, it needs to have soul, it needs to have spirit. And I have a lot
of room for improvement, so I’m gonna work on that,” Saweetie said.

There’s no release date yet for Pretty Bitch Music, but Saweetie said earlier this summer that “it’s coming soon!”

Saweetie has released a handful of singles this year, most recently issuing the Dr. Luke-produced “Icy Chain” after “Get It Girl,” “Fast (Motion),” and “Risky.” In August, she appeared on “Out Out” by Jax Jones and Joel Corry alongside Charli XCX. Charli will close out SNL for the year on December 18 with host Paul Rudd, following Billie Eilish’s double duty as host and musical guest on December 11.

Halsey made her fourth appearance as Saturday Night Live's musical guest on October 9th, where she performed two songs off her latest album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power. The  27-year-old pop star delivered an energetic performance of her album’s lead single “I am not a woman, I’m a god” for her first selection, donning a futuristic black leather bodysuit and surrounded by fog on a sci-fi set. French filmmaker Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Green Hornet) served as creative director for the segment.

Halsey slowed things down for her second performance, by collaborating with the legendary former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham for the beautiful acoustic ballad "Darling." It was co-produced by Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor and his frequent collaborator Atticus Ross. This time around, Halsey donned a puffy black gown with a black top hat and veil. Buckingham stood by her, providing stellar guitar work and additional vocals. He wore a leather jacket and denim jeans.

The aesthetic of that performance couldn’t be more different from the former. The pair performed in front of a dimly lit, grey and green hazy backdrop and stood regally behind their microphones, with Halsey channelling Buckingham’s former bandmate, Stevie Nicks’ haunting look.

"The

Halsey tweeted after the show. "The second is love, lush
and organic and dreamy: me after. And how wonderfully they both co-exist!"

The episode also saw Kim Kardashian
make her SNL hosting debut. She and Halsey both appeared
in  sketch where Kim played her sister Kourtney and Halsey
played Kendall Jenner.

The singer's fourth album, If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power, was released on 27th of August. It debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart and topped Alternative Albums.

The Weeknd finally tells all about the mysterious, bandaged character from his "After Hours" era.

The singer finally put our doubts to rest after he explained in an exclusive interview, what inspired his new character and the compelling storyline that followed each music video from his latest album.

The "After Hours" Era

The Weeknd has pulled off a yearlong facial transformation to go along with his hit album "After Hours", in his music videos. His cut-up face spewed blood everywhere in the music video for his Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit 'Blinding Lights'. Then the bandaged star got decapitated in the 'In Your Eyes' video. His head is then reattached onto another man's body in the 'Too Late' clip. The final reveal of his fake facial enhancements gone wrong  appeared in the 'Save Your Tears' music video.

The 'Can't Feel My Face' singer even appeared dressed as this character for his live performances. The Weeknd wore the memorable red suit jacket, black leather gloves and bloodied face with a nose bandage while performing on 'Saturday Night Live' ahead of the album release. Towards the end of 2020, he accepted two awards and performed a medley of 'In Your Eyes' and 'Save Your Tears' with Kenny G with his face covered in bandages.

The Reason Behind The Look

In an interview The Weeknd gave with a famous magazine during his interval for the Super Bowl Halftime Show, the singer revealed his intent behind the bruised and bandaged character.

"The significance of the entire head bandages is reflecting on the absurd culture of Hollywood celebrity and people manipulating themselves for superficial reasons to please and be validated.", The Weeknd said. "It’s all a progression and we watch The Character’s storyline hit heightened levels of danger and absurdity as his tale goes on." When asked about why it seemed like the singer was making his face increasingly unattractive, he replied: "I suppose you could take that being attractive isn’t important to me but a compelling narrative is." We can't disagree with him on that one.

American Rapper, Machine Gun Kelly appeared on Saturday Night Live marking his debut in the popular long-running series. It was also SNL’s first show of 2021.

Kelly opened the show with a solo rendition of ‘My Ex’s Best Friend’ on 30^th January. The show closed with an emotional performance of ‘Lonely’, from the rapper who wrote it about his late father. He died in July 2020.

Kelly took to Twitter to announce this earlier this week. He wrote, “I remember when I was a kid watching [SNL] every weekend with my aunt and my dad, since they aren’t here to see this moment, I’m going to perform the song I wrote for them on the show. Hopefully, I’ll feel them there.”

‘Jim’ From ‘The Office’ Debuts Alongside MGK

Both tracks that Kelly performed are part of his album, “Tickets to My Downfall”. It is his fifth album which released in September last year.

Making his hosting debut, apart from Kelly, was ‘The Office’ actor and director, John Krasinski. John was originally set to make his hosting debut in March, last year before it was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Quite The Trippy Show!

We aren’t sure if you watched the show till the end, maybe you missed it, maybe you dozed on the couch watching it! But the show featured something hilarious after the final sketch. The scene saw the Studio 8H band perform the jazzy sleep-inducing melody, “that’s the end of the show, good night folks!” while everyone else did the customary hugging with their masks on. The credits rolled and Aidy Bryant was off to the side dressed as a giant cockroach. (yes, we are looking quizzical too!) This is right when Pete Davidson approached Kelly for a hug and the rapper decided to scoop Pete up by his knees and both of them tumbled over off stage.

Machine Gun Kelly is six-four, readers! Now that is a pretty big fall! John Krasinski was a gentleman to go down off-camera and help the lads up to their feet, to no avail! Sigh! Pete followed this by picking Kelly up and throwing him off his shoulder like a sack and the viewers couldn’t be more entertained by their antics. Watch Bowen Yang’s expression below:

An Eventful Start To 2021

2021 has been a busy year so far for Machine Gun Kelly. This includes his recent collaboration stint with Yungblud in a zombie-inspired video for ‘Acting Like That’. Kelly also released his “pop-punk musical” earlier this month called “Downfalls High”. The film is 50-minutes long and the rapper recently compared it to ‘The Wall’ by Pink Floyd. The musical is written and directed by the singer himself.

A source for Kelly, even rated the musical four-stars and wrote: “In a world of content for content’s sake – films have often been used by artists try and extend the lifespan of an album – Downfalls High feels driven by purpose.”

Machine Gun Kelly has had an eventful start to the year and we hope it continues for the rapper!

Rap God, Eminem’s ‘Stan’, released a decade ago has resurfaced as comedian, actor and cast member of Saturday Night Live, Pete Davidson decided to make a Christmas spoof of it. And, hands down it was quite entertaining.

The show’s host Jason Bateman sported playing a dismissive Santa Claus while Pete played ‘Stu’, a Santa-obsessed man. In the parody, he sports a bleached blond hair resembling Devon Sawa from the original video.

The original music video features Dido, playing the role of a crazed fan of Eminem. Writing a disturbingly increasing number of letters, unhinging more and more with each letter, desperate for a reply. The inspiration from ' is quite evident and we honestly, dig it.

It's Eminem's Turn

Eminem also made a pre-taped cameo in the SNL sketch comedy. At the end of the video, he appears unwrapping a present marked “To Shady, From Santa”, a PlayStation 5, underneath a Christmas tree, that he never asked for.  He says, "That's crazy. A PS5? I didn't even ask for this! I guess Shady must have been a good boy this year. Sorry, Stu. You fucked up”, mocking Davidson’s ‘Stu’.

Eminem might seem like a tough nut to crack but has definitely humoured Pete’s parody well. Overall, it was as entertaining as it could get.

He’s been writing mad raps in his lockdown in which he’s been in for the last 19 days. And the freshest of all is the new one he has dropped ‘In These Walls’. It samples from PVRIS’s ‘My House’ and creates something so hauntingly beautiful. “You said I never wrote a song for you/ so I hope this one is haunting you,” he starts and WE ARE HOOKED! 

He’s been going at it quite hard in his IGTV videos. He last covered Paramore’s ‘Misery Business’ with Travis Barker,  followed by ‘What's Poppin’ on which he rapped freestyle with Jack Harlow and then a collaboration with Yungblud where they performed Oasis's ‘Champagne Supernova’. 
In the song that’s absolutely digging its claws in our minds -- ‘In These Walls’, he goes: "I think we're caught up in a power trip / She my Kate Moss, I'm her Johnny Depp / Life of a fast life in the fast lane / Fights in the cab, nights drinking champagne / Ice make it last, ice for the back pain / With the knife on the dash, pipe in the ashtray.”
