With more than 5 million pre-saves, the album also became the most pre-saved album on Spotify ever. Millions of Swifties flocked to stream it at midnight, causing Spotify to briefly go down in the U.S., U.K., and parts of Asia due to the overwhelming volume of digital users. These milestones place Swift in a league of her own, further solidifying her as a streaming powerhouse who can bend digital platforms to her momentum.

On 16th September, she announced that she will launch her first headline arena tour in six years—'Little Miss Drama Tour'—to support her long‑awaited second studio album 'Am I The Drama?'. The North American tour, which will begin in February 2026, will visit over 30 locations in the United States and Canada before coming to an end in April.

Ed Sheeran returns with his eighth studio album "Play" released this Friday, 12th September, through Gingerbread Man and Atlantic Records, following the conclusion of his chapter of albums with a Mathematical theme. The album is vibrant, vulnerable, and joyous, giving the impression of a new beginning. "Play," according to Sheeran, made him "fall in love with fun again," moving him away from the darker, deeper tones of his most recent music and toward a more exploratory, international sound.

"Play" marks in a new era for Sheeran, departing from the pattern of his previous albums, which were titled "Plus," "Multiply," "Subtract," and "Equals," and adopting a more lively and expansive sound. The album is roughly 44 minutes and 38 seconds long and contains 13 tracks. Love, sadness, family, identity, and the joy of life are among the main topics that are conveyed through acoustic ballads and lively pop songs that incorporate Persian and Indian musical influences.

"Play" is purposefully lighter, more frivolous, and feels like a reset in contrast to "Subtract" (2023) and "Autumn Variations," which were darker in tone and more introspective. Sheeran himself stated that he intended "Play" to be the complete opposite of "Subtract"—celebrating life, culture, creativity, and colour. He also said that "Rewind" and additional albums will follow to complete the set, with "Play" being the first in a new series of symbol-themed albums based on media control buttons.

OTT is set to debut its highly anticipated mystery-comedy 'The Thursday Murder Club' on 28th August, bringing together an iconic cast that includes Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie. Helen Mirren shared that she was drawn to the role of Elizabeth from the moment she read Osman’s novel. Coldplay gave their fans an out-of-the-world surprise on Thursday(May 6) when they dropped their new single ‘Higher Power‘ which was debuted in space. They roped in French astronaut Thomas Pesquet, who is currently onboard the International Space Station, to help them out with the release of this track.

The music video for the song also has quite the extraterrestrial vibe to it as it features holographic aliens dancing in it! Check out the video below.

For those who are impressed by this space debut of a music track, allow us to share another surprising fact. This isn’t the first time it’s happened! Back in 1965, the crew onboard NASA’s Gemini VI-A played the Christmas holiday classic, Jingle Bells, making it the first song to be played in space. It even got into the Guinness Book Of World Records!

Since then, a few other songs such as Elvis Presley’s ‘ Hotel‘ and David Bowie’s ‘ Oddity‘ have also joined the club.

The songwriting on this track proves to be quite interesting as it sees NCT reminiscing about the past. They cherry-pick certain experiences and tokens, bringing on an unshakable wave of nostalgia. Back in late September, the rising stars of Why Don't We made their explosive landing with the track, 'Fallin' (Adrenaline)'. This marked the band's first release release following their eight-month hiatus that began in early 2020. 

For starters, 'Fallin' (Adrenaline)' opens with an intriguing cocktail of drums and snaps. The track is then carried forward by the band's dreamy harmonies, boasting of their vibrant tones. So, what makes 'Fallin' (Adrenaline)' so much more than your average, gooey pop song? 

On one hand, it's certainly the impressive production elements, infused with a punk-rock flavour, that give the song an extra push. And on the other hand, it's without a doubt the band's vocal prowess, that sculpts this track into the groovy, auditory treat it is. 

Cheeky and charming, the songwriting on this track sees Why Don't We explore the uncertainties and thrills that arrive with a new love. The boys chose to dive headfirst, with careless abandon, hoping to be swept by the tide of this exciting new relationship. The lyrics allow for a better understanding, take a look:

Back in early August, rumours started swirling around a possible collaboration between two of the hottest acts in the industry: Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa. The former took to social media at the time, to post a picture of both of them in the studio. Her caption read, "Dua has heard what you haven't..." And now, a good 3 months after Miley dropped her little hint, the duo have blasted onto the scene with their groovy, retro treat, 'Prisoner'. The song finds a space on the star's upcoming album, "Plastic Hearts".

Jumping aboard the neo-retro train once again, 'Prisoner' features a string of infectious hooks, topped up with funky synths and groovy beats. Piecing together the duo's sultry, husky vocals, this song has proven to be the perfect fit for both. Not only do their vocals complement each other, but 'Prisoner' also treats us to some of the sexiest harmonies. 

Much like 'Midnight Sky' the songwriting on 'Prisoner' is once again top notch. Miley and Dua detail an all-consuming relationship, one they wan't out of and yet, one they're content with being trapped in. It's a complex dilemma and the lyrics do complete justice to it, take a look:

Just this week, the K-Pop machine whirred, spun and recently popped out a brand new girl-group: Aespa. Owned by S.M Entertainment and comprising of four members, Karina, Giselle, Winter and Ningning - the girls just made their explosive landing with the debut single, 'Black Mamba'.

Boasting of a groovy bassline, a funky electronic mix and an infectious hook - 'Black Mamba' leaves you hooked from start to finish. The track also sees Aespa dabble with the idea of alter-egos and a comic-book like storyline featuring the familiar trope of a monster wrecking havoc. Penned down by Yoo Young Jin, the lyrics immerse you into Aespa's action-packed fantasy world-

Now, the music video for 'Black Mamba' sees a vibrant kaleidoscope of colours. The girls are seen busting out some sultry dance routines, accompanied by a crowd of leather-clad backup dancers. The sets for this track are also, quite literally out of this world. From blooming, vegetated subway trains to glitching screens and smoky rooms - Aespa have truly set the bar high for debut projects. Not to mention the constant presence of a gigantic black mamba, slithering its way through each set. 

Quite the visual treat, isn't it? Well, it was all sunshine and daisies until the storm hit. Aespa were recently slammed with plagiarism charges, the two most prominent ones being the similarities between virtual group K/DA's 'Popstar' music video. And the second one arrives from the German visual artist, Timo Helgert, who claimed that the band copied his work, which also sees vegetated gardens, rainforests and well, a big black snake slithering through a subway. How S.M Entertainment chooses to navigate these plagiarism charges, only time will tell. 

But on a happier note, Aespa have already set a new YouTube record with the music video for 'Black Mamba'. The tune raked in a whopping 21 million views, notching a new high for a K-Pop girl-group's debut music video.

After leaving behind a trail of intriguing teasers, Ariana Grande finally made her explosive landing with the music video for her track, '34 + 35'. The tune finds a space on the star's sixth studio album, "Positions" which recently racked up a lot of chatter following multiple chart wins and other critical acclaim.

Now, the visualizer for this track proves to be quite the aesthetic, sultry treat. Ariana is seen building a robot version of herself, scribbling notes and jamming buttons on a control panel in the hopes of bringing the mechanical creature to life. The young star's also seen busting out some sexy moves in pastel shades, against polka-dotted backgrounds and whirring laboratories.

Complete with her signature, sultry runs and lyrics like, "Got the neighbors yelling 'Earthquake!' / 4.5 when I make the bed shake” the music video actually proves to be quite tame in comparison. While it's always a delight to see Ariana in full form, dabbling with quirky concepts, perhaps the music video could've done a better job of holding our attention.

'34 + 35' is the second track to be given the music video treatment following the visualizer for ' Currently, Ariana holds strong at the No.1 spot on the Billboard Artist 100 chart for the 15th week. By reaching this milestone, Ariana has surpassed Post Malone in the fourth-most weeks spent at the top spot. Her album has also retained the No. 1 spot on the Rolling Stone 500 chart for the second week in a row.
